MEet the People of Jim Fernandes Construction!
Jim Fernandes- Founder
Jim graduated from Turlock High School in 1953. Jim began working for William H. Rose, a local contractor, as a carpenter. In 1964 Jim partnered with Mel Westbrook and they specialized in building custom homes.
In 1972, Jim formed his own company: Jim Fernandes- General Building Contractor which specialized in custom home building. He also developed an 85-lot subdivision between Colorado and North Olive south of Monte Vista. When the opportunity arose, Jim added metal buildings to the list of "products" he specialized in.
In 1974, he decided to Incorporate and formed JIM FERNANDES CONSTRUCTION, INC. He focused on Commercial and Industrial building, with a focus on metal buildings as well. Upon graduating from California State University, Fresno, Robert joined his father in the business. Jim and Robert built many projects together while Robert learned all facets of the business.
Robert Fernandes- Owner
Robert has been working in the construction business for over thirty years, starting in high school and throughout college. He assisted with building plans, technology, and many other aspects of the business. Robert graduated from California State University, Fresno with his B.S. in Agricultural Science in 1988 and has been an essential asset to the business. Robert continues to be the driving force behind Jim Fernandes Construction, Inc.
Scott Reno- Estimator & Project Manager
The newest member of the Jim Fernandes Construction team, Scott Reno is highly experienced and dedicated to great customer service. He has worked with pre-engineered steel buildings for twenty-seven years. Two of those years were spent working hands on in the shop, five years as a software developer, and the remaining twenty as a draftsman and detailer.
Previously, Scott worked at CBC Steel Buildings as a member of the drafting team and he most recently held the position of Drafting Supervisor. He spent an abundance of time supervising the implementation of the use of the new 3-D modeling software which played a significant role in the development and advancement of steel building engineering.
